Xiaomi / Redmi · HyperOS 3: Developer options and USB debugging
Captured on Redmi Note 14 5G, running HyperOS 3.0.306 · Android 16, on 2026-10-29. Menu names may differ on other models or software versions.
The box marks the target for each step. Click any image to open its watermarked full-size version. Developer options and USB debugging were already enabled on the captured device; confirm their state without turning them off first. The screenshots use Chinese system menus; the instructions include the exact Chinese labels.
Full route: Settings → My device → Detailed info and specs → OS version; Settings → Additional settings → Developer options → USB debugging
1. Open My device
Open Settings and tap 我的设备 (My device).
2. Scroll down to Detailed info and specs
Scroll down on My device and tap 全部参数与信息 (Detailed info and specs).
3. Tap the highlighted build/version number repeatedly
Tap the highlighted version/build information about seven times, then enter your screen-lock credential if prompted, until the phone reports that Developer options are enabled. If it says they are already enabled, continue. Do not use Android version or Kernel version instead.
4. Return to Settings and select Additional settings
Return to the Settings list and tap 更多设置 (Additional settings).
5. Enter Developer options
Scroll down and tap 开发者选项 (Developer options).
6. Keep Developer options on
Confirm that the highlighted master switch is on. It is already on in this capture; leave it on. You do not need to turn it off and start over.
7. Find USB debugging and confirm it is on
Scroll down to the Debugging section and find USB 调试 (USB debugging). If it is off on your phone, turn it on and read and confirm the system prompt. The final state should match this image: on. Do not select Revoke USB debugging authorizations below it.
8. For phone-only wireless pairing: find Wireless debugging
The box identifies 无线调试 (Wireless debugging). It is off in this capture; this is an entry-location image, not a completed setup. USB connection to a computer does not need it. For Android 11+ phone-only pairing, connect to Wi-Fi, enable Wireless debugging, confirm the prompt, then tap the row to open its details. Continue with the pairing guide linked below.
Connect the computer and continue background setup
After enabling USB debugging, connect the unlocked phone to the computer with a data-capable USB cable. On first connection, confirm the computer in the phone’s Allow USB debugging? prompt and select Allow. Use Always allow only for your own trusted computer. If no prompt appears, check the cable, USB port and Windows driver first; do not revoke existing authorizations just to repeat the demonstration.
Continue with the illustrated background setup guide: choose an applicable system method, then configure VMOS+ battery use, autostart and background protection and test your virtual machine. USB debugging alone does not remove background restrictions.
